This item attaches to a screw under your seat but ONLY ON CERTAIN car/truck/van models. it didn't work for me but it did for him and we tried it but he didn't like it there as he doesn't use a tablet so we took it off after a short week. Installation was easy and the item is beautiful and functional, but as it didn't fit my truck it's still useless to me. I put it in because one day I will have another truck and it might work on this one.
