Disconnected from computer, accidentally stopped working

It has been constantly disconnecting from my computer since the day I bought it. It randomly disconnected and I had to unplug and plug the receiver back in every time it froze. Not very comfortable. It just stopped working last week. I've tried changing the batteries, disconnecting and reconnecting, etc., but nothing I've done has worked. I'm disappointed because I liked the size of the mouse but it's too heavy to keep using it.
