Got this for 8yo and they needed a lot of help to setup and build. All of the pieces need to be cut out of plastic forms and that takes time and patience. We were looking for some medium weight cotton shorts. My son was fed up with the quality of Gap/Old Navy/wherever shorts these last couple of years. These shorts are, in fact, a nice, medium weight cotton that hit just above the knee.
