Very soft material on both sides, with a rich cranberry/wine color (see photo next to a red flannel). The red side is a brushed velvety texture and the white is soft "wool sock nubbed” feel. The material is light to medium weight, with an inner stuffing, so it feels heavier and warm.The white side is thick, but not super dense. The backing is visible through the fur strands (see photo). The red side is a much denser knit.I washed the blanket because the white had an ever-so-slight reddish tint, but ended bleeding even more. After the rinse and drying, the white appeared white again.
