Bargain best in Towers

The computer came in perfect packaging and with great care, with 2 inch bubble wrap around it. There are two dents on the top of the case, minor and acceptable. The case is clean inside and out and shines like new. On closer inspection you can see some wear in a few places, which is acceptable. The HP serial number sticker on the top is peeling and almost worn off, but the serial number sticker on the back is in excellent condition. After the computer was on for about 5 minutes, the room smelled of cigarette smoke and stale air. I ran the computer for 3 hours, the smell was so strong I could taste it. The smell coming from the PSU fan is very strong. The entire case and power supply are crystal clear. I have no idea what the smell is, but it's just coming from the power supply exhaust fan and there's no trace of order inside the computer itself when it's working. Two of the 4 memory slots are equipped with 8GB DDR3 modules. The computer model and serial number were found on the HP website. Windows 10 is not a supported operating system, so you must manually select Windows 8.1 64-bit to access driver and BIOS updates that you may wish to update. The latest BIOS version is April 10, 2019. I downloaded BIOS 4/26 RevA but when I started to install it told me the versions are the same along with the date 4/10/2019. It looks like the computer was originally built with Windows 8 Pro (sticker on the back) and I verified the authenticity of the Windows 10 Pro 64-bit license by removing the SSD and then the Windows 10 Downloaded media from Microsoft.com onto a USB stick and installed on a 2TB hard drive. It installed and activated with no problems. Built-in VGA supports 1920x1080 resolution. The included mouse didn't work. He continued to shake the on-screen cursor violently, not moving where it should. I replaced it with an old mouse I had. On the back is an expansion slot cover where a graphics card could be installed. The computer takes about 10 seconds to get to the BIOS POST screen and 10 seconds later Windows 10 starts up. There is no hesitation/pause when using it, which was very surprising. The only slowness I've noticed is loading/saving large files. I have antivirus and antivirus running on the computer and it is clean except Malwarebytes showing Driver2019 program may be unwanted so I uninstalled it. It took about 2 hours (high speed internet) to install Windows 10 updates. I'm impressed with the speed and responsiveness of this computer. It runs Steam(tm) games with a graphics card upgraded to at least a GTX 1050. However, nVidia Game Experience shows that the computer does not meet the minimum requirements. for an optimized gaming experience. I've been trying to play Raft on max graphics settings for about 3 minutes and haven't noticed any issues. The PSU information is completely obscured, the entire spec sheet has an updated TechID sticker so there's no way to check the specs. If I remember correctly, the seller previously wrote on Revain that it is a 320 watt PSU. I downloaded and installed the Intel Driver & Support Assistant and used it to update the old graphics driver. The onboard video memory is 2 GB and cannot be changed in the BIOS. The SMART status of an unused 2TB hard drive shows that this hard drive has been powered on for over 47,000 hours (5 years!). It has seek and read errors, but still passes the SMART test. At some point I will give it up. The computer shut down unexpectedly and I found that its power settings were set to go to sleep and turn off when plugged in after 10 and 20 minutes of inactivity. I changed both options to never. I always leave computers on for the first 24 hours to ensure they are working properly. It was still working 24 hours later, so it's reliable. The power supply makes an unpleasant noise when it is switched on and a longer noise when it is switched off. The noise is much louder when I install a lower graphics card and much louder when I install a GTX 1050. I removed them and the sound is now minimal but still noticeable. (Right now only the SSD is connected and I have tested the CPU and case fans). In my opinion, this is a good suggestion for those who need a computer to surf the Internet and check email. Games can be run with a graphics card upgrade. It's said to come with a 320W power supply, which is enough for a decent budget graphics card, especially if you unplug or remove the DVD and 2TB hard drive. The included power adapter connects to the motherboard only, while the SATA drives are powered by the motherboard. Update after 1 week of use: PSU fan still gives off odor. It's not as bad as each day goes by. We hope it will be gone by the end of this week.
