I used this to repair a broken plastic furniture wheel. It had to be able to withstand at least 50 pounds, so I felt I needed to put it on a bit thicker for structural strength. 4-step instructions are printed on the packaging: prepare, mix, apply, dry. After step 4 there is an asterisk indicating that you should wash the parts in detergent and file or sand the surfaces. I missed the asterisk on the first try. The instructions say it cures over 40 degrees Fahrenheit in an hour, so I let it dry for 5 hours at 75 degrees Fahrenheit because I applied it quite thickly. After 5 hours he collapsed under the weight. It's partly my fault that I didn't sand/file but the epoxy wasn't cured after 5 hours. The product I received is completely dry and clear. Tip: Score the surface with an Xacto knife. This should definitely be the first step. When repairing broken plastic, the sandpaper is unlikely to reach all of the uneven broken surfaces to be joined, and the file will deform them and ruin the shape of the seam to be joined. On my second attempt, I used an Xacto depth gauge. notched surfaces. I really recommend doing this as there is a much larger surface area for gluing. Then I wiped the parts down with dish soap and sprayed them with 91% alcohol. This time I let it dry for 48 hours and it's still holding up. My tip: cut the surfaces well and let them dry for as long as possible.
