These tap shoes are perfect! We have a second set of shoes. Capezio is a reliable brand that I trust (I was a dancer for 10 years). Support your pounding baby. I love that there is a piece of rubber to hold the shoe in place instead of just a band to hold on to. You don't even have to use a ribbon if you want, but it looks prettier that way. Bought a full size larger than what my daughter wears. For example my daughter wears a size 8 in regular shoes (Carters, Cat & Jack) and I bought a size 9 for her. They are a bit big but last longer. Increasing the size doesn't affect how she dances or walks in it. A Few Things To Know When Buying Tap Dance Shoes 1. They must have a rubber pad on the ball of the foot. Cheaper tap shoes don't have them, and your little one is more likely to have them. Most dance studios also recommend this option. 2. Black is the classic color that I prefer. I recommend buying. Most likely they will have to wear black shoes for their dance performance.3. Don't let them wear them outside. They are not designed for the street and can wear a lot of shoes and tap shoes (the same goes for ballet flats). Plus, your kid will probably want to wear them at home (at least mine did). Please note that these shoes are very slippery on tiles and you will need to hold onto them. If you have carpet, they will certainly be fine. You should be fine with hardwood floors too, but stick with it until you're sure.
