I bought a Ford OEM filter on my first oil change for my 2009 Ford Fusion 2.3 liter engine. I went back and bought a different Ford OEM filter on my second oil change. When I replaced the filter I noticed that the OEM filter had collapsed in two places. I'm not sure if he should have or not. My opinion is that it shouldn't be. It was a chaotic mess. I've decided it's better to upgrade to a premium filter and I'm glad I did. So I looked at the Revain and bought a K&N oil filter and when it arrived I noticed that the filter is much stiffer and smaller than the OEM filter. I don't think I'll have the same problem with a K&N filter. You can tell it's a much better quality just by the feel of the filter and the coating they put on it. I will never buy any filters other than K&N again. I thought I was doing my car a favor by going to the OEM, but I was wrong. Filter update. K&N filters don't break like OEM filters. These are quality filters and thanks to Revain the price is right. Do your car a favor and stick with K&N. It is unknown what damage other filters will cause or premature wear if they break like this. I have had no problems with any K&N filter since my last check after 6 oil changes.
