This was my first TV wall mount and I did not do any research on my specific TV as I wrongly assumed VESA standards apply. My 2015 LG EF-9500 55-inch OLED TV was an exception. I have a large 3D Blu-ray collection and this TV is one of the latest models to support 3D playback. For the record, LG had a $400 proprietary wall mount that is long since discontinued and no longer available. Another company offered a wall mount for this particular TV, but it turned out to be significantly inferior to the Sanus in terms of design and overall quality. I ordered a Sanus VLF628-B1 mount without knowing what I realized halfway through the project: the mount is NOT compatible with this model. , according to Mount Finder on their website. Of course, I only noticed this after I had already installed the wall mount and ignored the process described in the instructions (great, btw). Figures 2 and 3 clearly show that the 4 mounting bays are not arranged in a VESA/square pattern, but with different vertical orientations! I've spent some time looking for some sort of bracket extender but couldn't find anything. Again, I've spent 4 hours on this project at this point, with the wall mount firmly attached to my bedroom wall, which seemed like a doomed effort from the start. Another thing I couldn't figure out was how reliable and well designed this mount was. The shipping weight of the Sanus Mount is SUPER HEAVY compared to its weight! In desperation, I called Sanus customer service after having an idea. The supplied TV mount, shown in Figures 2-3, consists of two adjustable vertical brackets that help attach the TV to the mount. But on my TV they only lined up 2 sockets out of 4! After further communication with Sanus support, the product development team kindly agreed to send an additional TV mount free of charge via Next Day Air to try out my idea of adding two more vertical support mounts to the rails for a total of 4. I'm not a do-it-yourselfer by any means, but after a few small adjustments I managed the impossible: the bracket's hole pattern finally matched the 6mm metal sockets and I finally managed to mount the TV on the modified bracket (image 4). -6)! The rest of the job took less than 20 minutes, not counting the electrical wiring, installing the glass shelves and the APC AC wall panel. Clearly, the most important lesson learned from this project is that prior research is mandatory. No matter how well designed and built a product like the Sanus mount, there are thousands of devices out there that can grow by the minute. What surprised me these days was how willing Sanus customer service was to go above and beyond to accommodate a use case the product simply wasn't designed for, not to mention the added cost of expedited shipping and the shipping itself. extra part! I have since ordered another Sanus mount to maintain my 2018 49-inch SONY X800S UHD LED panel for my home office. Yes, it has a 200mm VESA mount, but it's good to know that there's someone on the phone if anything unforeseen happens.
