My 8 year old loves these pants and wears them quite often. He found her comfortable. The waist looks a bit tight but he said it fits well. He is currently a size 8 and this 7/8 fits him well so I would say true to size. They have pockets, which pleases him. There are elastic bands at the waist and legs. So far they've washed well, but they're fading. However, this applies to most of the black clothing items that we have. Also, the word has a peeling stain, so I don't know if it came from wearing or washing. They're not very thick, but are likely to be hot if worn in hot weather (and cooler if worn on cold days). However, he was glad to have her during the chill between the days we had.
