As a tall and tall person I can attest that these chairs live up to the hype. I'm not anywhere near the 800lb range but I'm north of 350 and I'm very wary of anything that folds or looks flimsy AND THESE LOOK FLAT. However, I trusted the wording and bought ten of these for my office for events. When they walked in I gave them a sidelong look because they looked like they could barely hold 100 pounds. So I took my cell phone, cleared the area and gave it a try. and it worked. I moved a little, no, he didn't move. No noise, no movement, no worries. I suppose they might be good for older people who don't weigh that much as many older people tend to slouch in chairs. For the price they are great. They take up little space and are very simple, so they don't stand out.
