Review on Acer FreeSync Monitor - 165Hz, 1920X1080 Resolution, Wide Screen, ‎UM.QV0AA.S03, HD by Jeremiah Camacho

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great product but a bit misleading in terms of marketing

The monitor works great and I would recommend it, but there were a few things in my setup (I have an RTX 2060 Super GPU) that were confusing, like the HDR and Gsync aspects. HDR isn't supported by DP 1.2, only 1.4 and up, which this monitor doesn't have. So if I wanted to use HDR in FHD I would have to use an HDMI cable and that would limit me to 120Hz. NVIDIA GPU, if I use an HDMI cable, I cannot use NVIDIA G-Sync. G-Sync is currently only supported via DisplayPort cables. Users with an AMD GPU can still use FreeSync if they use an HDMI cable. A small nuance for those who do not know and perhaps do not know. FHD and HDR are not the same. FHD = Full High Definition (1080p). HDR = High Dynamic Range (large color palette). It makes colors brighter, light colors brighter, and dark colors darker while maintaining image quality.
