I bought these to change my Christmas tree this year. I looked at different sets. I thought they were great based on options and features but I was disappointed. ADVANTAGES: VERY bright indoors, which is also a disadvantage. It has 4 brightness settings but the lowest is what it would be in normal lighting. The other 3 are insanely bright inside. I thought it would be like dimming the lights to a normal brightness for say watching movies or something else. Full function is a plus that most of these sets didn't have. It works well and a remote controls the other sets. The disadvantages far outweigh the advantages. Light dimming starts at normal fairy light brightness and goes insane. It's not like you're dimming to soft light. The remote only works A LOT up close and the buttons don't always work as others have said. THE BIGGEST MISTAKE. It has all those light changing features, but the intermediate lighting looks terrible. Check out the photos which show some washed out ugly colors but it's even worse in real life. Only looks good on white or multi. Fading, flickering etc looks awful as the highlights are diluted with ugly intermediate colors. They look like the fairy lights have faded horribly over time with washed out color. I could have bought a cheaper Basic White/Multi Kit instead. After all, I had already encased the entire 7ft tree with a total light of 700 before I started playing with the remote. I didn't want to start over, so I'm just going to deal with it this year. All in all, if you're just into white and multi or using horrible fading effects and colors, they work. I was very disappointed and would definitely not recommend it.
