This is about the first experiences when unpacking and assembling the shelf. I was very impressed with how the box was packaged, there wasn't a lot of unnecessary plastic and the foam was very sturdy meaning it didn't chip everywhere. fancy screws with a lock nut to hold the sides together. I assembled the first two fairly easily. I was having trouble with the next two, so I figured I could call customer service for help. It looked like the holes that the locknuts went in were drilled too deep. Well, customer service wasn't helpful. Nobody knew anything, they wanted to send a link to the video. After saying "no thanks" I fiddled around with it a bit more and got it working. The various screws were relatively long and strong, so I think it can actually handle the intended weight. All the hardware was added including even a screwdriver and an envelope with plastic parts that looked like drywall inserts but weren't listed in the parts list or instructions. So all is well that ends well. Not the highest quality item in the house but looks decent and goes with dining room furniture costing 200 times more!
