It looked like a fun prank toy so I wanted to get some random gifts. Due to the many bad reviews, I only tried one at first. You were right. Sparks are weak, almost never coming out of the mouth, and even then occasionally. The photo in the description shows that there are a lot of sparks and they shoot far. That's definitely not the case with what I got. Sparks mostly do not fly out of the mouth and hardly illuminate the head. Also, walking is weak. It must be bad design and inconsistent production if some work well and many don't. I'm disappointed. I will not buy again. I do not recommend this toy.
