I have ordered three of these phone holders for three different cars. The first was used with the iPhone XMax with a moderate body. The phone did not stay in one place and continued to bend down. The screws were stripped and eventually broke. I returned it. The second was used for an iPhone 8plus with a very thin soft case. The phone was not standing upright with the phone in the cradle. Then, after a few uses, the screw holding the adjustable ball in place snapped and broke. It is now useless and non-refundable as it was too long ago. I am currently using a third one with the same iPhone XMax and am having the same issues. Difficult to keep phone upright while driving. I'm too scared of over-tightening the end for fear the screws will snap again, and at this point the unit is non-returnable.
