Review on 7014646 Zero Refrigerator Light Switch by Dean Wildfang

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very easy replacement if lights don't come on when door is open

Anyone with a SubZero can tell you what a headache it is when something breaks. Where I live the only 'authorized' dealer charges a hefty service fee just to fix the problem. They don't even offer credit if you do repairs. So when I saw that something like this simple switch on my 690 was broken, I was determined not to spend a fortune to fix it. Replacing this switch is very easy. Simply turn off the power, remove the grill cover and the switch is located just above the door. Both switches have a protective metal cover that must be removed first. The screw is cross-shaped and is located on the back of the cover. It's hard to see, but you can feel it. Once the metal cover is removed, disconnect the light switch wires (yellow and orange on my 690) and use a flathead screwdriver to depress the tab while pressing the switch with your finger. He'll jump right out. Insert the new switch until the tab clicks into place. Replace the wires (don't forget to see which color went where) and you're good to go. It is really that easy. I saved myself a lot of money and the headache of waiting for the mechanic. Much luck!
