I ordered this thermometer after receiving two defective products from another manufacturer, unlike them this thermometer holds what I found it easy to calibrate (although I'm not sure if it was necessary) and the magnet makes for safe and convenient storage in the fridge next to the stove.Lights up when the probe is unfolded, turns off when folded off. Easy to read display and backlight. The 'hold' function is handy for obvious reasons. Cleaning is as easy as wiping the probe. I've seen this on several Butcher Box-Sc used; After investing in high quality, sustainably sourced meat, I'm glad I have an inexpensive tool that will keep me from overcooking. Four stars only because it's impossible to verify exact accuracy without an expensive second thermometer (and so I don't need it). Judging by the inner color of the flesh, it hit the target.
