Review on Beech Lane Resistant Perfomance Conditions by Adam Browning

Thetford antifreeze toilet valve

Thetford motorhome toilets have an unfortunate water inlet valve design: they are almost guaranteed to burst before freezing: some water remains in the valve when the water system is drained; and this piece of water breaks the valve. And it can't be fixed; replacement only. I have repaired and replaced Thetford OEM valves twice. This Beech Lane replacement water valve has a slightly different design and the company says it's frost resistant. I think it will, although I haven't used it in circumstances that would prove it. I installed a drain line and valve to completely drain the toilet lines prior to storage in very cold weather. We use our camper several times each winter in very cold weather. Replacing the water valve is a bit tricky due to the typical close fit of the toilet to the shower area on most RVs. However, once the toilet has been dismantled, the valve is easy to assemble.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
