Review on πŸ”Œ Hopkins 48510 Endurance Die-Cast 7-Way RV Blade Trailer End Plug by Michael Hemmig

Strange attachment - Hard case broken due to loose attachment of blade section

This is an odd kit. While the body is metal and very strong, the plastic working end is only held in place by a small screw through the metal body that threads into a piece of plastic less than 1/4 inch thick. When connecting and disconnecting, a large load is placed on it. There is no cable clamp to keep tension on the wire. Of course you can tie the cables to the metal rod inside as suggested, but this makes later disassembly more difficult. My setup now has individual cables in an outer braid that can be opened and pulled back. However, I'm not sure how a jacketed cable would work. Once you've stripped enough of the shell to pull out the loose wires from the front to attach them to the terminals, you'll need to fold all the wires to bring the front back without the shell coming out; maybe with small wires, but not with something like 12ga.
