Lower your expectations

I've convinced myself they're great and fun for everyday use. Cute from afar, but up close it's clearly a cheaply printed piece. There are white spots where the print doesn't cover the bowl, which I think was mentioned in another review but I ignored. shape of plates and bowls. There are subtle indentations and bulges and the edges of the shells are slightly wavy. They're fun to give to kids and they're great for breakfast or as a snack when I'm alone. I think I would be a bit embarrassed. serve them company meals. But it might just be the rethinking I do when the item first arrives, and I'm wondering if I'm not more amazed at keeping it to myself. I'm keeping it but I'm not ordering a second batch like I thought I would. Enough for my family of 4 and I stick to the pretty ceramic plates I have for company or serious steaks.
