Total Household Waste

Looks and smells the same as the RIT product except you use a lot more of it (1/2 cup per gallon for soaking) so it's not worth the cost. I didn't bother to look at the ingredients but I bet it's the same. Like RIT bleach, it did next to nothing and may have made it a little more yellow. Don't worry about that. I had very old dull white paint that I just couldn't turn white again with RIT, burnishing, oxycleaning or oxobrit. Luckily I was able to get most of my whites back with dish soap, borax, laundry detergent and vinegar (since I don't use bleach I have polyester and other fabrics that don't bleach but bleach works better and you use about half a glass instead of one whole) in equal parts. I used about 4 cups at a time in very hot water in a 10 gallon plastic bag and soaked the entire load for most of the day (I'm front loader otherwise I'd use the washer). This is the only one that has worked so far. At least my whites are fine now and look like new. Note: the bluing only gave the shirts an additional white appearance AFTER I did another soak. I've used it before and it didn't help.

Pros
  • That's amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs
