Review on Jet Black DualShock 4 Wireless Controller for PlayStation 4 - Classic Model by Penny Lewis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This works WIRELESS on a PC running WINDOWS 8.1 (64-bit)

This is the best game controller out there and yes you can use it wirelessly (via Bluetooth) on a desktop PC running Windows 8.1. There are many guides online explaining how to do this, but 4/5 of the methods I've found and used have failed completely. Most of them were for Windows 7 users. My rating for this controller is 5 stars because it is an excellent controller. The rest of my review will be a quick guide on how to get it working quickly and easily whenever you want to use it, without messing around with your computer settings or opening a command prompt - so just read on if you want to know how it works It works on 64-bit Windows 8.1. If you have a slightly newer laptop, you almost certainly have Bluetooth. If you have a desktop, this probably isn't the case. In any case, open the Control Panel. Everything should be in alphabetical order. If you don't see Bluetooth settings, you need a dongle to use the controller wirelessly. They're pretty cheap, but many of them aren't compatible with Windows 8+. This one worked for me and arrived in Southern California in 2 days (using the 'Standard Shipping' option), shipped in the same box as the controller I bought at the same time: http://www.amazon.com/gp/ product/ B00EW3WS9M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Install Bluetooth software with USB dongle attached. (I disabled most boot entries related to aftermarket bluetooth and had no problem getting it to work properly after that). Bluetooth: check. Next you need to download the latest XBox 360 device drivers for Windows. Microsoft tells you that Windows 8.1 does not require any additional software. Ignore and download and install the XBox 360 drivers for Windows 7 64-bit. (You can disable the Xboxstat.exe startup entry). If you've looked into this at all, you've probably heard that you need DS4Windows (now known as "Inputmapper") to get this to work. You know. So do not download this program and donate money to make their ads disappear. This isn't required and doesn't work (in my experience) if the remote is wireless on 8.1. However, you MUST download special software. Download the necessary files from here: [.] Open the ZIP folder and extract the entire "ScpServer" subfolder to CProgram Files (x86). Connect the Dualshock 4 controller using a USB to micro USB cable. (The same you use to charge Android and some Blackberry phones). Order one of these if you don't have one. Watch this video and do all the steps up to 4:55 (STOP as it makes the process too complicated): [.] Once you have followed the above steps carefully, all you have to do is pair your Dualshock 4 with Windows Bluetooth connect Press and hold the Playstation button for a few seconds. It blinks once or twice before Windows recognizes it. When the main indicator on the Dualshock 4 turns red, your device is connected and should be recognized by your games. The disadvantage of this method is that your Bluetooth device will ONLY work with the Dualshock 4 controller (it will no longer work). for Bluetooth headphones, etc.). Also, games assume you're using an X-Box controller. When the controller buttons are displayed on screen, they are displayed as X/Y/B/A instead of ⬛/🔺/X/🌑 and as The main LED does not light up and changes color depending on the game, e.g. B. when connected to PS4.
