This diffusion soft box is very handy and compact. It is ideal for softening harsh lights and minimizing shadows. The only problem I see is that the hole on the back where the light comes through is relatively large and doesn't fit the light exactly. I bought this kit to use with GVM 480LS LED lights. In order for me to use this kit effectively with these lights, I need to connect the barn doors, open them as wide as possible, and then use the velcro straps that come with the diffuser to connect it to the light. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because of this and because some light can still bounce off the back and deprive the subject of the light they need, but is not ineffective as a diffuser. It actually helps the light spread much further than light without helping to illuminate the mise-en-scene with fewer fixtures. Great little buy for the price
