So the camera has to be connected to the ethernet network and then to the box and if you really need a system to record something its not the app Don't charge all the time, so look left at the setting rather than your phone. The other cameras I have don't record to the device, but the original 4 cameras do. I wanted a good secretary system but had problems every time I needed it, also I drilled holes for the cameras and now all I want to do is throw the photo in the bin. I have never been so disappointed with a product. In my lifetime my friends have bought one from Hinson. Works great I don't even like to write a bad review but I made a comment about it being removed and still no response. Do not buy this item it is rubbish and if you don't believe buy it knowing you have wasted your time and money I spent an extra 300 on cables and everything I need and am still very disappointed if it works as intended 5ft it will work but I think mine broke before I realized this product made me think about giving up Revain for good because they don't really help either but it was not cheap and i won't let it go no wish and when they start they get a different chance than me
