I chose this pump on purpose because it can run on both AC and DC power. I need it for everything from inflating air mattresses, beach balls, bike tires to giant truck tires. I know a DC pump can't inflate a truck tire to 80psi without burning out. I used this for bike tires and it worked really well. After using it on truck tires I will post an addendum if it fails the test. The power cord is short, so be prepared to use an extension cord. DC cable is suitable. The air inflation mount easily screws onto the tire stem as long as you have about 0.5" of the bar open. A slight loss of air occurs when the filling tube is pulled off. The device is compact with no frills. It shows the pressure of the object it's attached to and seems accurate enough that you look at the gauge as you fill and turn it off once you've reached your desired pressure. It has a high-quality canvas cover that protects against dust and moisture and a carrying handle. Easy to store in the trunk, garage or under the sink. You want it to last 10 years with light use. I can't speak for longevity or longevity.
