I've learned over the years that everyone's pain is different and some things work for some people, but not so well for others. I bought this brace because I couldn't find my original back brace after a hasty move and downsize from a house to a rental unit. The primary function of the back brace is to support the lumbar area of my spine so I can tackle chores such as vacuuming, mopping, washing the truck, etc. The brace helps but it doesn't eliminate the pain. In my case, the crests of my hips (Iliac crests) hurt because of the lower back issues, so after awhile the pressure from the brace on the crests starts to bother. It can get pretty hot and sweaty under the brace, which is to be expected. Hilariously, I didn't realize initially there are actually TWO belts to this brace system and was just using the primary, base belt. Once I figured out that there is a top belt that you can snug up, too, that really provided more support. I thought I read the instructions.maybe I didn't. Oh well, I figured it out.
