I used this item to drain the oil from my Ariens Platinum 24 snow blower. The drain plug is on the side just above the left rear wheel. Unless you remove the wheel it is very hard to drain the oil without creating a mess. I tipped the blower on its opposite side, while I opened the drain plug, so it would not spill out. Then I attached this hose. Put the blower down and the oil drained out into a container thru the hose. It worked great and no mess. The problem is the hose is relatively stiff and too short for leaving in place permanently. Which is what I wanted to do. I could not find any safe place to attach it too so it would be clear of the wheel or snowblower control rods. So I removed the hose and put the original drain plug back in. The hose still eliminated the mess and I will use it the same way next year. It needs to be longer and more flexible in my opinion. For what it does it is a little pricey. But ultimately it did what I needed except for being able to leave it on permanently.
