This toothpaste contains hydrolysed (split) pearls and fluoride to protect teeth. Other ingredients are typical of mass market toothpastes. It doesn't contain any oxygen-based agents or bleaches, so pearls and other ingredients are abrasives that may help reduce some surface stains, but won't actually whiten teeth. This formula lathers or lathers poorly and tastes mildly like mint. Available for around $7 for four ounces at the time of our review, this is a good toothpaste that leaves my teeth smoother than some other mass-market brands. More of a professional tooth cleaning than other toothpastes I use. Using this product may have some benefits in reducing staining or tartar build-up, but there is no active ingredient on the list that actually whitens tooth enamel, and toothpaste is unlikely to leave toothpaste on. Teeth long enough to really whiten were the whitening agents in the formula. For smoother teeth we can recommend this product, but don't expect miraculously whiter teeth from using this toothpaste.
