I came across this little lantern while looking for panda gift ideas for my 7 year old granddaughter. At first I was hesitant to buy it for a seven year old as it seemed more suitable for a much younger child, but the price was reasonable so I took a chance. It's cheaper to buy without a remote control, but I'm glad I bought it with a remote control. It can be controlled with and without the remote control, but the remote control offers more lighting options like flashing, blinking, and fading light patterns instead of just changing colors. I have to say my granddaughter loves it. It's well made and really cute. The battery also seems to last a very long time.
