I probably should have read more reviews on this container before buying. I have two main issues with this item that previous reviewers have mentioned: #1 - You stick the label on the inside bottom of the container and the glue is not that easy to remove. As with a container that advertises itself as a food container, glue should never be applied to the inside of the container. Warm soap and water did not help remove the adhesive despite repeated cleaning. I think Mineral Spirits or Goo Gone would do it. Since I didn't have either of these, I used a few drops of gasoline ** No, I do NOT recommend this as gasoline is very VOLATILE ** which dissolves adhesive with low friction but leaves a gasoline smell (imagine!) that was not rinsed off easily. I ended up washing it in the dishwasher to get rid of the smell, which brings me to my next point. #2 - This container is NOT dishwasher safe. When it came out, it was deformed! However, it could be used and the smell of gas disappeared. In the end I was able to use it for its intended purpose. In the freezer you can put a beautiful container for ice cream.
