I have one there old leather chair with one worn arm and significant damage to the other arm. The chair is in a finished porch so I didn't care how perfect it looked, just a good repair. The chair came with a leather swatch under the seat. I cut it in half and slip it under the holes to create structure, then cut one of the two patch sheets in half. One of them went over the worn arm and the other half repaired the torn arm as shown in the photos. Self-adhesive lasts over a month, none of the corners curl even in the recent 90 degree heat. If I end up needing to replace the patches, I always have another sheet of material. You won't find these very large patches at Home Depot or Lowe's. I know because I've watched.
