Review on LUCID Inch Latex Hybrid Mattress by Sharon Fuller

Goldilocks agrees! with 6 month update

update. April 6, 2019: The mattress is still firm. I know it's only been 6 months but on the previous mattresses we've had over the years none of them have crossed the 6 month mark before starting to wear out. So I think that's a good sign. First review: I've had insomnia for the past year due to my chronic lupus pain and because our old memory foam mattress appeared to have amnesia. I've spent over 30 hours (over several days) researching all types of mattresses and everything there is to know about them. Now I consider myself an expert. hehe. For our situation, I decided based on everything out there that we needed a latex/pocket spring hybrid, which led me to two options: this one and one on another site that costs $1,700 and whose return policy was dubious . Or of course we decided to try this one. The funny and sad part is that this was the first mattress I saw on my research trip. I could save myself over 30 hours of research. We needed a mattress that was cool to sleep on. I burned all night with our old one. This is not fun. My research led me to two things that keep a mattress cool: latex and pocket coils. I then researched which guys had the best support. My husband weighs 280 pounds, which is heavy for a mattress, especially memory foam. Again, my research led me to latex and pocket coils. They offered what we needed, a soft feel but firm. From what I've read we could have done without latex but it was very expensive and my husband was convinced we needed IUDs due to the weight. Lateral support was another issue we hoped to fix. This mattress offers excellent lateral support. Sometimes I have to sleep on my side with my arm dangling because of nerve problems, so I can do that and not feel like I'm going to fall. Our previous mattress, all memory foam, let us down on the inside. Year. I think we are partly to blame for this as we didn't wait more than a couple of hours to put on it as my husband refused to wait. It never quite worked out. He continued to measure only the sides of the mattress, which reached the desired 11 inches, but ignored the head and foot sections of the mattress, which fell short of the required 11 inches. Well, my latest research shows that all memory foam mattresses need to be aired for the entire manufacturer-recommended time to extend their longevity. Once we lay on them, they never will be unless they reach their full height. I pestered him and explained what his solution cost us so he wouldn't bore me with 48 hours of waiting with this mattress. In fact, I was in so much pain that I was the one who wanted to wait the recommended 24-hour wait, but he insisted. LAUGH OUT LOUD. So please wait the recommended time with any mattress you end up with, even if it looks high enough. It's worth the wait. What do we think of this mattress? First let me explain my situation, I was recently diagnosed with lupus. Over the last few years my health has steadily deteriorated from occasional aches to severe pains accompanied by migraines and now a lovely rash. I have neuralgia everywhere, fibromyalsia, arthritis, etc. I'm sick 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I recently had to start walking with a cane. I'm just a little overweight and two years ago I was running 5K three times a week. The last few months have been unbearable. Due to the pain and our old bed, I found it difficult to sleep even 3 hours. It was going to be a good night. This amazing Lucid mattress has changed my life. Now I sleep more than 7 hours which is a miracle for me! I would probably sleep more, but the nerve pain still wakes me up, but not as much. I have never slept in a bed as comfortable as this one. Is always. Even sleeps great! There is almost no snoring of the man. Now he's sound asleep. (Probably because I am. LOL.) We have no complaints yet. We just hope that we will be around for at least 5 years. In this case, we assume that the money was not spent in vain. When we first rested on our LUCID 12" King Latex Hybrid mattress, we said wow, it's soft. However, we didn't drown in the mattress and it really supported us. We sleep on our stomachs and on the side. But I've tried every position on this mattress and you really can't go wrong. It's comfortable no matter how you sleep. It's not too soft or too hard. This is just right for all of us sleeping Goldilocks. No Pressure on the joints or our backs. That's great. We can even hug each other again! Our old mattress couldn't take it and we felt like we were slipping into a sinkhole. In this bed we can cuddle as much as we want .You have seen other photos of what the mattress looks like so I just added what our mattress looks like and photos of the condition of the box it came in. As you can see the box came crumpled a n. Looks like UPS went to great lengths to glue this together. I want you to see these pictures because if you order this bed and it is delivered like this I don't want you to have the little heart attack I had. The mattress was packed so well in the box that it was undamaged. So, no fear. From what I've read, it's better to have cotton sheets and a cotton comforter to keep you cool on any type of bed. The best sheets I've found are at Sam's Club, their $40-$50 brand. They are wrinkle free, soft and silky and feel like heaven. They get softer with every wash and last for years. We just bought a giant king size bedspread as shown in the picture here at Revain. This is another amazing find. It fully covers your bed so you don't need a skirt, which is useful when flipping a memory foam mattress. You can find my review of this amazing bedspread by clicking on my name here if you are looking for it. The manufacturer of our bedspread has different patterns/colors. I will update this review on how well this bed is holding up. We've only had this mattress for a month. I'm ready to update my reviews so let's see how this dream mattress holds up and I'll let you know. Crossed fingers! Good luck on your mattress journey, whatever you choose.
