I had a couple of outdoor black light bulbs that I used for Halloween outdoor decorations but my goodness these things got piping hot after a while and stalled Fire hazard near decorations or chips. Leaves fall in the yard. This is a great alternative. They don't get as hot and work just as well. They're not as bright as we'd like for big street scenes, but at 30W they work well. It actually worked better when I placed some of these in specific spots to get the glow effect I wanted without the light taking away the spooky shadows I wanted. When you light them up on zombies, corpses, cotton based webs, foam based tombstones and skeletons, they really get a great glow effect. Very satisfied. I bought 2 packs to try them, I liked them so much I bought 2 more packs.
