It is very durable. I was worried because I used to have cheap cats and I knew straight away that this wouldn't be a problem for us. My cat weighs 12 pounds and this holds him up with no problem. The suction cups are huge. I installed them and did some of my own testing. Unless your cat is massive or your window isn't very dirty before installation, this is going nowhere. Maybe buy a second one for the living room. I appreciate that he has his own place to sleep and it makes it easier for him to look out the window. If you want a very strong window seat you can install it in less than 10 minutes and have really good suction cups, that's what you need!
