I originally wanted to use it to hide medicines from children, but it's already in the kitchen cupboard. While I know it will work for those needs, I've unexpectedly used it to lock down my kids' electronics. I have set rules like no video games before dinner, no electronic devices after 10pm and no electronic devices in their room when they are sleeping and I use a bin to store their devices. What makes this work really well is that it has holes on the side so it can at least be charged. The container itself works well but I find it easy to break when you get to it. It also comes flat but is easy to assemble so my first impression was that maybe it doesn't work but surprisingly it does. It's not designed as a safe, but it can keep things safe enough. Overall the box is well made, it's made of hard, thick plastic and feels very solid. The only area I would say needs a bit of work is the lock itself, the numbers are a bit finicky and difficult to turn but it works. The only minor warning I would like to say is that if your child is determined to get their stuff out and throws them away and cuts them up, I'm pretty sure this bin won't work. If your child follows the rules, then I think one container is enough. If you are looking for a safe medicine container or want to give your kids some down time with their electronics I would recommend this.
