Incredible value and options

Great budget keyboard with incredible versatility. I have magic keys that I will compare here: Pros-Versatile. I'm so tired of pulling the iPad out of the magic keys. In this case, you just rotate the iPad and it works LIKE A TABLET. Multiple lighting is fun, unique, and stays programmed like typing. Good enough. Not as good as magic keys but about the same, with good key spacing etc. I write novels for fun (over 1 million words and 8 novels at the moment) and am a keyboard geek. I would like to write on it for a long time; also has a beautiful fully carved arrow group and a full right offset angle. The trackpad off button is nice because it doesn't make any mistakes with your palm (sometimes happens with magic buttons) - saves a lot of money. Think what else you could buy for $250 more than NOT spending on magic keys - the Apple Pencil Loop is AWESOME! I often knock on my pencil or have children here who can handle it. No more problem - MUCH better viewing angles and cool modes - Media Keys are GREAT and work like Apple should have intended - Pairing is easy and straight forward - Fits pretty well. I had a skin protector around the iPad (12.9 2020, not M1) that I had to remove to fit. It seems to get less oily/greasy than magic keys. Cons: The keyboard flexes a lot; Picking it up from the keyboard with one hand feels like it's slightly deformed, unlike the magic keys - it tips over more easily than the magic keys. When I'm typing on my knees, my palms usually have to stay on the keyboard to keep it in place. Wobbier than magic keys when typing. Greater viewing angle of the laptop than the magic keys so the iPad is farther from my face (the magic keyboard pushes the iPad slightly forward so it's closer to you) - Some keys don't display the same as the globe key. On the magic keyboard I remapped the globe to the option button as it looks more like the windows keyboard layout) - power on delay; Sometimes the keyboard takes a few seconds to turn on, which can be annoying - the trackpad is fine (3/5). The Magic Keyboard trackpad is PHENOMENALLY buttery smooth (6/5). It's functional but not very pretty. So who is it for? Overall, I'd say that if you like the iPad primarily as a tablet and not a productivity laptop/computer, this is a MUCH better option than Magic Keys. If you want to turn your iPad into a productivity laptop/machine with tons of typing, scrolling, etc. functions, and not primarily using it as a tablet, the Magic Keyboard is much better. High stars for value, incredible versatility, fun RGB colors, good battery life (haven't needed a charge since I've had it), great typing, AMAZING viewing angles, improved tablet functionality, and a decent (but not great) trackpad

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Poorly designed
