I'm sure if you could stack them on top of each other you wouldn't have a problem but unfortunately my fridge is too short to stack them on top of each other so bought them next to others and still have things on the lids to lay. However, those lids are the worst thing about this design. They sit on the top edge of the plastic jar holder but aren't fixed, which means that almost as soon as you remove the jar from the organizer, the plastic will move and the lid will pop out, rendering them virtually useless. You pretty much have to tape these covers off for them to stay in place properly.
