I think it really helped!

I bought these because my daughter refused to lie on her stomach and didn't move her head at all and also slept in skirt and play for the first few months, so a flat surface developed. I started placing this under her head as she lay on her playmat and every time she cried later during the supervised time I noticed the flat spot became less noticeable. I'd say even if you use it for prevention every time the baby is flat it's worth the money. An absolute must for us.
