I bought it a year ago and wasn't very good at stamping. Since then I've learned to stamp properly. The first is when you should file your stamp to the point where it's no longer shiny. It should be matte, without shine, matte. This is a very important step, probably the most important! You also need to clean the die and stamping plate with nail polish remover to remove oil residue. Be sure to remove the blue plastic sheet from the stamping plates or you will lose the polish if it slides right off. Using a large ruler, like an old credit card, press firmly on the plate away from you to remove excess polish. I've found that it's better to use more polish than less, although this creates more mess and requires more cleaning. Then press or roll the stamp over the nail polish and repeat the process on the nail fairly quickly, otherwise the polish will dry out. The reason I give this 3 stars is for two reasons. I think some of the designs are too thin or grouped to be used properly, but I'm just starting to get it right. The second reason is that these blades are VERY SHARP. I cut my fingers a few times from the sharp edges of the panels, either removing the blue sheets or cleaning the panels. I've got enough blood to need Band-Aids and nail polish remover stings me terribly. BE VERY CAREFUL when using or you will cut yourself.
