Review on ๐Ÿงฉ Enhance Emotional Development: Peaceable Kingdom Friends and Neighbors Cooperative Game for Kids by John Bailey

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A good point or two, but mostly just unfair

I looked at the one star reviews. One or two good moments, but mostly just unfair. I bought this for my 2.5 year old a year ago. He is almost 4 now and we just played 2 rounds last night and he loved it. I agree that the age should be between 2 and 4 years old as older kids will NOT be bored with this game. The game doesn't teach kids how to solve problems simply by giving them something that makes them happy. It helps in object identification and mapping. The adult should help them see the scenario and the emotions the children are dealing with. And why the object will help. Not in all scenarios the child wants something, so we give it to him. Some scripts are things they need, like band-aids for scratches or paper towels to clean up spills. I don't understand the stop sign. My son just ignores it until he completes his map. I feel like you get more value by doubling the number of items and scenarios. Or maybe even think of scenarios where 1 out of 2 possible items would help. Maybe add a second dimension where the child matches the emotional face (emoticon etc.) to help the child identify the emotion in the script. However, it is a good educational game as long as an adult is involved to help the child understand.
