Review on Revolutionize Your Sound with the Blue 1967 Yeti Pro USB Condenser Microphone, Multipattern by Cynthia Smith

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It started well. Not much now

I bought the mic in early September 2016 and it worked GREAT until mid February 2017. And he just stopped working. As per other reviews, there is no on/off button regardless of whether it is connected to USB or not. The small red light is the power and connection indicator. When the lights go out, you're done. I've been corresponding with Blue Mountain for the past few weeks but it's via email and it's slow. They want you to go through each step, from changing the cable to different ports to trying different computers. I did everything at once. And I even bought a powered hub to test it out just in case my Mac was the problem. Of course, all other devices work fine, so it's all about the microphone. What is interesting is that the msft surface book pro states that there is a current draw. But the mic still doesn't pick up, so its pulling power, but that's it. I don't have a $$$ at the moment. I'll probably just pick a different brand for now as I need a mic and I haven't gotten too far with Blue Mountain. This isn't a new issue for them, so you'd think they'd be a bit quicker as there is some history of faulty devices. ** Update 8/3/2017 - Support has requested a device for testing and proof of purchase. We're moving in the right direction! **Updated 3/15/2017 - Resend Amazon invoice two more times. no answer from support. Bad sign. **Updated 3/15/2017 - Finally return authorization at the end of the day. 3.5 weeks after initial contact with Blue Mountain. Good thing that's not my life.** Update 03/21/2017 - Blue Mountain has confirmed that the device is defective and sent me a new one. hope it lasts ** Update 03/24/2017 - Got a new microphone. Sounds good. I'm upgrading it to 4 stars. But more than 1 month turnaround time is not acceptable if you need a microphone and cannot afford a backup. ** Updated 06/27/2017. Recording is broken! Terrible! It hurts too much!** Update 07/18/2017 - Up to 3 stars. The USB interface is no longer used. The XLR interface seems to be better. Requires 48V phantom power and comes with a 5-pin to 3-pin XLR interface cable adapter.
