I did not purchase these for children. I'm a graphic designer and photographer who needs to travel. They will not be confiscated from your carry-on baggage by the TSA when you board the plane. Also suitable for camera backpack, UL backpack, glove box or BOB that you carry in the car. Durable, safe, lightweight and backed by Westcott's customer-friendly 5-year warranty. A very decent utility pair of scissors to take with you for occasional use. And they only cost $1 each. (If you only buy ONE of these solos it will cost you $4. $12 for $12 is a great deal!) I gave a four color quartet to a friend of mine who is a photographer. He loved her! If I knew little kids or teachers, I would give more. But I don't, so I have 8 for me. stock for life!)
