This has proven to be a useful tool in the phonetics learning arsenal. While I disagree with different shades of blue for initial and final sounds (why not use two completely different colors?), the handy CVC word formation and ability for multiple start/rhyme actions are still useful. What I did was separate the pieces by color and put them in bags (after this step the cylindrical plastic container was no longer needed), which allows kids to reach the worker faster and avoids confusion. Combine these pieces with the word formation cards that Junior Learning offers and you have an instant learning station. Children have fun manipulating works by practicing phonetics and word families.
