I installed these knobs on a 2006 Honda TRX500FM Foreman quad. The handles are made of high quality rubber, which creates a comfortable grip after assembly. The instep collar ensures these grips fit snugly and stay taut. It was a direct install. A small complaint I have is the odd wire color choice. The ground wire is red, as is the power wire. Might confuse some people. Make sure you ground the wire directly to the battery and not to the ATV frame. Also make sure you connect to a keyed hot wire so you don't accidentally drain your battery. Pro Tip: To easily remove and/or reuse factory grips, use compressed air carefully. Using a screwdriver, gently pry a small portion of the top of the grip from the handlebar. Insert an air nozzle into this gap and slowly inject air. The grip will temporarily swell and detach from the handlebars. Roll up and drive off. The handles get very hot on high settings. I'll be testing and reporting on our Canadian winter weather over the next month or two.
