First let me say that the product was delivered early, the packaging was in a padded envelope, when I opened the envelope the pencils were in a cellophane jar, when I opened the jar all the pencils were in good condition, sharpened and nothing broken. I ordered these b/c I wanted to try the oil based colored pencil. The description says they are oil based, but the tin doesn't say that. I've color tested all the pens and they lay flat with fewer passes and show more even paper tines than say Prismacolor or Koh-i-noor, but these pens are more pastel than Prismacolor or Koh. -i-noor that appear lighter. But here I am comparing oil based pencils to wax based pencils. I would definitely buy them again and I think you have to work out your own personal shade as you can mix your own colors and change the shades with any crayon.
