Review on ๐Ÿ“ท Sony Cybershot DSCH1 5.1MP Digital Camera with Enhanced 12x 'Steady Shot' Zoom (Discontinued by Manufacturer) by Emily Smith

Revainrating 4 out of 5

An old camera that works pretty well.

I've seen some amazing pictures taken with this camera so I looked it up and found it on Revain. Probably few will buy this older model, but here's what you need to know if you do: The image quality is REALLY exceptional within its limitations. The combination of excellent optical zoom, amazing "depth of field" focus at a distance and really sharp resolution (only for a density of 5 MP) allows you to capture very pleasant landscapes. Indoor flash output (up to 20+ feet) is high. But the camera ONLY runs on 2 Ni-MH batteries (2.4V unit); Lye cannot be used. It would be wise to have them with you as (which is common on older cameras) the LCD screen eats them alive. Battery life is worse with flash, but when you use the LCD screen for picture adjustment, it's unbearable. It's best to turn off the LCD, use the viewfinder, and minimize viewing photos. Sony's first-generation "steady-shooting" camera will outperform many current point-and-shoot cameras and lacks all the bells and whistles available today. Battery life is the biggest issue. And you need to buy a $10 adapter to use Memory Stick Pro DUO chips. Not bad at all for what I paid.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
