I bought this stand because my Berkey was either on the edge of the counter or on a fallen pan. My Berkey doesn't leak, but I've been known to accidentally leave the faucet on when it was empty and then refill the top reservoir, causing water to flood the entire floor. So this stand allows me to place it with the faucet over the edge of the sink, just in case. It also allows me to use the spray nozzle next to the sink to easily fill the top. The stand feels very solid, but it's good to know that you may have to spread the legs very carefully to make it just as solid. as much as possible. The rubber feet really help keep it in place.
