Most of the screws didn't quite tighten

So this table was bought for $69. My 9 year old wanted it because it looks like a school kid. It wasn't too expensive for a table so I bought it. The screws that come with it are called (I googled) hex bolts and hex bolt connectors. Essentially, this means that one screw goes into the other, much like a sword and scabbard. They send you two hex screwdrivers because you need to hold the bed screw on one while tightening the other. It is in order. The problem is they just tighten up and leave a lot of slack where the legs swing a lot. I have strong arms and arms for a woman but after a certain point they really don't give up anymore. I worked on tightening these things up as much as possible for a good 20 minutes until my face was sweating. I was only able to fully tighten the joint in the middle as that's where the legs cross and the joint is therefore much thicker. It filled the room. It looked like all the screws were sized to fit the thick center joint. We ended up keeping it because it's very difficult to return Revain purchases and when the center pivot is tightened the table stands well and the carpeting keeps the legs from wobbling. If it was a wooden floor, I think it would rock. However, if we take the table and shake it, we can actually see that the legs are very loose. If it cost more I would send it back, but for $69 we can get it working. Just disappointed.
