Lexol has long been a favorite of auto repair shops and restorers

Lexol is one of the most popular leather conditioners and I have used it to clean and protect the leather on my new car. Lexol is a longtime favorite of auto repair shops and restorers, so it's a pretty solid name. Lexol contains no chemical solvents, is odorless and leaves no greasy residue, which is very important. I've tried a few others and it felt like I smeared Crisco on them. The Lexol kit includes many products and a pair of application sponges. I found that helps a little with this stuff. I have cleaned a 3 row SUV and a 2 row truck and barely dented the bottle. First of all, it is a skin cleanser. Lexol cleaner has the consistency of thickened liquid soap, so using a liquid bottle makes sense. To use the cleanser, simply put a little on a sponge or cotton cloth and rub into your skin. The cleaner (unlike soap) creates bubbles that are said to aid in the gentle cleaning process. In my experience, I found the leather cleaner to be too mild for my taste. It's so gentle on the skin that it's probably better suited to routine car maintenance than restoration. It did remove some dirt and very small stains, but it may not completely remove stubborn oil stains, lipstick stains, or similar stains. My seats were fairly clean, but a dirtier car probably needs a stronger cleaner. Lexol Leather Conditioner claims to restore the oils used in the tanning process and therefore extend the life of the leather. It "nourishes the skin" and helps it stay soft and supple. Lexol Leather Conditioner has a liquid consistency. The application is quite simple (pour and grind) and very light. Again, a little goes a long way. One bottle lasts for several years with quarterly treatment. We try to make cars last a long time; Therefore, a little preventive care in the form of Lexol leather care makes sense. Maintaining the flexibility of the leather seating surface helps prevent tears and tears and also helps withstand increased mileage.
